Downstream access reduces consumer mailing costs

BP are delighted to offer consumer mailing via Downstream Access (DSA) as an alternative to Royal Mail.

The benefits to our customers include large postage savings (up to 20% on some lighter items) plus reasonably predictable arrival days and the option of staggered release days to help manage your call centre activity and distribution planning.

The volume of mail collected by Down Stream Access Providers 2007/2008 was 4.1 billion items accounting for 21% of the overall volume of traffic, almost doubling the previous year's figure of 2.4 billion items.

The first quarter of this year January – March 2009 saw 1.5 billion items collected by DSA providers. You can identify these as they must have a different PPI on the mailing (the box top right).

With the awareness of alternative mail providers to Royal Mail such as TNT, Secured Mail and UK Mail increasing, and with the benefits these operators can provide their share of the market is expected to grow 15% year on year.

Do you think that DSA can work for you business?

Collette Worldwide Holidays.

"From the get go it was clear that BP understood the sheer complexity of our various Direct Marketing requirements. Not only did they fully understand the tasks in hand, their pricing was the most competitive. Needless to say they delivered as they promised, and they will continue to be a key partner in helping Collette Worldwide Holidays continue to drive revenue."
