New e-broadcasting software
BP Travel Marketing Service has completed the installation of state of the art e-broadcasting software ready for the considerable growth in traffic planned for 2011.
Christened eConnect Mail the system uses the heavy duty cable and wireless internet links from BP’s Ashford HQ to directly send e-broadcasts instead of using third parties. The software, which is also available to customers of sister company Au Logistics, pre-checks e-mails for compatibility with the major browsers. It also manages opt-outs, provides full reporting and links directly to clients CRM systems.
Clients can access the system to initiate their own e-mailing campaigns or the BP Online team can handle e-broadcasts and design e-mail templates for clients who don’t have these skills in-house.
BP’s Director of Sales & Marketing, Steve Martin, commented, “Our role is to deliver our clients’ communications to their trade and consumer target audiences and the e-broadcasting aspect of this mix is growing in importance. To capitalise on this opportunity we have invested in latest technology - importantly directly linked to the web.”
Existing e-broadcast traffic generated by BP and Au, running into millions of e-mails in 2010, has already switched to the eConnect Mail system. This includes their fortnightly Next Holiday travel deals e-newsletter which circulates to 300,000 travel consumers and e-mailings to the extensive in-house travel agent & home worker databases on behalf of tour operators and airlines. Extra traffic is anticipated as travel clients switch their consumer e-broadcasts over to eConnect Mail.

"From the get go it was clear that BP understood the sheer complexity of our various Direct Marketing requirements.
